Language that holds water

A clear channel transfers understanding. A channel with sediment stalls momentum.

In a landscape choked with greenwash and disposable messaging, our process is clear: to dredge the words causing friction and engineer the language that carries your mission.

Origins from the Field. Not the Sidelines.

Founder of Conscious Copy

Conscious Copy is a response to a shortfall of writers who understand living systems.

For over a decade, I worked in regenerative agriculture and climate tech, building BioChar kilns. Navigating the gap between technical depth and public accessibility, I hit a wall: how to explain complex, systemic work without sounding like a science textbook or a preacher?

I looked for help. Every copywriter I approached produced language that was either too dry, too vague, or borrowed from the extractive industries I was trying to move beyond.

I discovered that language follows the same laws as the land — it flows when the channel is clear, stagnates when it's blocked.

So I learned to do it myself.

I stopped treating language like a sales tool and started treating it like infrastructure. I dredged the jargon, clarified the claims, and built messaging that held water under scrutiny.

The business ran on the language I built. But the process revealed my deeper craft: engineering clarity for complex, systemic work.

Now I offer that hard-won skill to regenerative founders, community leaders, and climate technologists facing the same translation problems.

I know your sectors because I've worked in them. I understand the stakeholders, the pressure to overclaim, and the cost of underselling. I've navigated the tension between technical rigour and accessibility.

I bring field experience, an engineer's precision, and a practitioner's respect for the work.

Our Three Commitments to a Regenerative Future

We manage words like a precious resource, following the logic of a healthy watershed. Every piece of copy is filtered through three core commitments.

1. The Source Filter

A river is only as clean as its source. We prioritise organisations whose models contribute to ecological restoration and community resilience. We commit to understanding the core of your mission, ensuring every word flows directly from your genuine intent.

2. The Nourishment Filter

Standard marketing builds funnels to trap attention. We build channels to transfer meaning. We reject tactics that leave residue — false urgency, manufactured scarcity, and jargon designed to confuse. We treat your audience as humans and partners, not targets.

3. The Legacy Filter

A waterway is designed to sustain. A marketing campaign is designed to be replaced. We write for durability — anchoring your message in structural truths rather than passing trends. If a claim won't hold water under scrutiny, we dredge it.
